I think his 5-word speech was "in dreams begin responsibilities". It the title of a book by a guy named Delmore Schwartz who spent his whole life studying James Joyce and wanted to write a book about him but ironically because it was so important to him he kept on delaying until eventually he died. Paul Whitmore wrote a paper about him and called this tendency to chronically procrastinate with our highest goals the "Delmore Effect". Which makes the statement "in dreams begin responsibilities" strangely ironic in such a way that only Daniel truly comprehends.

that's oddly well-stated for someone who claims to not understand it fully himself. makes clear sense to me and i think it's just wonderful. have you read this book? i want to.

I haven't read the book, but I have read the paper, which is actually pretty interesting.

That's only four words. Did he add "yo" at the end? Or does "responsibilities" count as two words, since it's pretty big?
