Nothing is worse than having your Sonicare run out of batteries mid-brush-session. Especially if it comes before even the first beep when you're still on the front of your top row. You try futilely to turn it back on but it only does for half a second. Then, having to brush like a barbarian with those ridiculous hand motions.

My Sonicare doesn't beep! It just dies. You need a manual backup for these moments.

The manual backup bites. It tastes of humiliation and defeat.

it doesn't beep? it's supposed to beep every 30 seconds to indicate that it's time to switch to a new section of teeth.

It all depends on the kind of Sonicare you have. Maggie may have the PS-1, which doesn't have the beeps (instead you're supposed to rely on intuition to know when to switch to a new section of teeth... and that takes advanced skill). I have the QP-3 which is totally a 30-second beeper. Unfortunately, both models are fairly out of fashion now and almost all the cool brushers are getting the Sonicare Elite 7500 Power Toothbrush which has refactored the beeping mechanism to be so amazing that they now call it a "30-second Quadpacer interval timer". Woah. It's elite. Impressive!

when this happens to me, i turn it on over and over and over and over and....well, you get the idea. those half-second bursts are frustratingly precious. I don't think this is a very effective way to brush, but I tell myself it is....
